Collections Assistant

Annalise Wall (she/her) is a writer and archives enthusiast based in Lunenburg. This summer she is joining us as our collections assistant. She has extensive archival experience, as well as a BA from Sarah Lawrence College, where she studied literature and creative writing. Annalise will continue her studies at Dalhousie in the fall with a Masters in Information. She is passionate about creating dynamic and accessible storytelling, especially in the archival world. Annalise hopes to work on highlighting marginalized voices in the museum’s archives, as well as look for records surrounding how we wear and express our heritage in Atlantic Canada, specifically through textile and costume.

Assistant Curator

Emma Merry (she/her) is one of the new members at the Mahone Bay Museum Staff for the summer 2025. She will be filling the position of Assistant Museum Curator. 

Emma is working towards her Bachelors Degree and has completed the Foundation Year Program at the University of Kings College. She now is finishing up her degree in the Netherlands at the  University College Roosevelt in Literature and Political Science. 

She passionate about writing and analytical research along with the politics of today’s world. 

Emma is excited to be a part of the summer staff and learn more about the community she has grown up in. 

Public Programmer

Carys Duffie (She/Her) is a returning staff member joining the museum this summer as the Public Programmer. Carys previously worked at the Mahone Bay Museum as the Collections Assistant during the summer of 2024. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree at McGill University with a double major in History and Art History.

Carys is passionate about working in the heritage sector and is excited to use her previous experience at the museum in a new position to create activities and educational programs for families visiting the museum. She will also be helping to organize new additions to the museum’s lecture series, Museum in the Community.

Manager/Curator

As of October 2024, Grace Armstrong is the new curator of the Mahone Bay Museum!

Grace holds a Combined Honours Degree in Contemporary Studies and Philosophy from the University of King’s College and a post-graduate certificate in Museum Management and Curatorship from Fleming College.

In 2023, Grace served as the Acting Curator of the North Bay Museum in Ontario. During this time, she partnered with local organisations to develop exhibits on the subject of community theatre, military history and the impact of residential schools. 

Grace is eager to build on Lyne’s success and get involved in Mahone Bay’s thriving community programs.
