Q: What is the Mahone Bay Museum about?
A: The Mahone Bay Museum has lots of information on the foreign protestants of the early settlement of Mahone Bay. This includes genealogy records, artifacts, bibles and more. Our mission here at the Mahone Bay Museum is to protect and offer public access to collections that offer a vast history of the region that benefits both current and future generations. The Museum’s mandate is to focus on the history of Mahone Bay, and the surrounding areas, such as Blockhouse, Clearland, Martins River, Oakland, Strum Island, Indian Point, Maders Cove, Westhaver’s Island, Fauxburg and Big Lots.

A: Yes, throughout the summer months the museum has an activity coordinator that plans activities for kids and to get them excited about the history of Mahone Bay. Stay on the lookout for advertising about them!

A: No, the museum does not have an admission fee, but in order to help keep admission free, donations are much appreciated!

A: If you would like to donate a family artifact from the surrounding area then please email us at info@mahonebaymuseum.com and make an appointment and we can help you. Be prepared to sign some legal forms when donating any artifacts or photos. Please do not abandon objects at the front desk with staff etc. You will be required to prove you are the legal owner.
