Every year, we ask our friends and supporters to make a small donation towards a project we are looking to fund. For the past few years, the hardest areas to fund have been general operational costs, which keep increasing.
This year is no different. Our goal for the Friends Campaign 2023 is to employ our Manager and Curator, Lyne, part-time for 15 hours per week at $23.50/hour from October 8, 2023 to March 31st, 2024 (25 weeks) for a total of $8,812.50.
To accomplish this goal, WE NEED YOUR HELP.
Every $23.50 that you donate, employs Lyne for one hour. If you can spare $100, you are funding just over 4 hours of work needed to achieve our winter goals and keep the museum running smoothly.
This winter, we need to:
– apply for summer staff grants for 2024,
– edit recently recorded oral history videos,
– share Mahone Bay area’s history on social media,
– answer incoming emails and research inquiries,
– complete online gift shop sales,
– plan for next season,
– open by appointment by donation for visitors wanting to visit us during the winter.
This is a high impact donation that provides an immediate return on money invested. Money donated today enables Lyne to complete the grants that pay for our 2024 Summer Staff. A week of Lyne’s time this winter pays off in months of Summer Staff hours through these successful grants!
