Join us on August 3rd from 6:30pm to 7:30pm at Mahone Bay’s St. James Anglican Church for a presentation by Dr. Kenneth S. Paulsen on the Anglican, Lutheran, and Calvinist origins of faith in Mahone Bay, Lunenburg, and surrounding area.

Masks will be required in the Church during the presentation.

Admission is by donation at the door. Proceeds will be evenly split between the Mahone Bay Founders Society and the South Shore Genealogical Society.

RSVPs are highly encouraged, as seating is limited.

We’re so pleased to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the launching of the “Bluenose” in Lunenburg with this video featuring information on two of it’s Mahone Bay riggers: Charles Begin and Freeman Mader. Special thanks to the descendants of these two men for providing additional information and images to this project.

Our annual Home & Garden Tour is a key fundraiser that helps us cover our operational costs for the Museum. Instead of selling tickets, we created a virtual tour for free and are simply encouraging a donation. 

The video, featuring Betty Meredith’s photographs (from Photos by Betty) of the exteriors of local homes and gardens with an introduction over the town by Picnic Studios, was shared online for you to enjoy from your own home.

The Home & Garden Tour is self-guided. You will receive a map, directions, and parking instructions so you can drive, walk, or bike to the houses and gardens in this year’s tour (most properties are located right in Mahone Bay). A volunteer will greet you at each of the tour sites and tell you all about the property’s history and features. Early Bird Ticket Price $20 each. As of June 29th, regular ticket price is $25 each
